Julie Tarr, Ed.D. (Executive Director) has worked her entire career in the nonprofit sector developing and implementing programs to support vulnerable populations. She has been in various leadership roles with foundations, state agencies and community organizations. Her interest is in data-driven systems change, evaluation, strategic planning, capacity building, and place-based initiatives.
Before assuming the position as ShareCare’s Executive Director, she worked on numerous capacity building and evaluation projects in Michigan and nationally. Prior to entering the consulting field, she was the Program and Evaluation Director at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, where she managed grant making and program evaluation. She received her Doctorate in Education from Rutgers University, and Master’s in Urban Planning and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Illinois.
Victoria Maggio, RN (Care Coordinator) moved to Leelanau county in 2000. She relocated from Washington state with her husband Jim and then 4 year old daughter Melia. Victoria graduated in 1984 with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Central Washington University and has worked in multiple areas of nursing in five different states. Since living in Michigan she has worked in Family Practice/Internal Medicine office for Dr. Siemer and Dr. Lammy, in Cardiology for Traverse Heart and Vascular, and most recently in her own business “Whatever It Takes” doing private duty nursing/caregiving.
Victoria enjoys running, walking, snowshoeing, camping, reading, gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles, listening to music and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Jennie Arguello(Volunteer Manager) grew up on a large cherry farm here in Northern Michigan. Her degree in education from the University of Michigan, wove its way into teaching at Northwestern Michigan College, project coordination for the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts, and volunteer management for Youth for Understanding International Exchange. She also enjoyed working in corporate wellness as a Wellness Specialist for over a decade and most recently as Director of Marketing for the Village at Bay Ridge. Jennie has been involved with seniors her entire life, due to the compassionate example set by her selfless parents. Although Jennie has lived in various places, her deep familial root system grounds her to Leelanau County.
Jennie is happiest when she is outdoors sharing nature with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loves books, music, cross country skiing and hunting for stones on the lakeshore.
Sally Bancroft (Office Manager) moved to Leelanau county in 2006 from the East Lansing area. She began her career as a graphic designer in 1996 working with the Michigan Public Health Institute in Okemos, MI. From there, she has had the pleasure of working with many organizations, ranging from non-profit groups, small businesses, book publishers and resorts. She enjoys working on the creative side but also has a strong compassion to help others.
Sally enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, boating on Lake Leelanau, going on hikes, listening to music and working in her flower garden.
